10 speed rear shifter, when shifting from large cog to small it just release all the cable at once. Anyone had this problem? Is taking apart the worst idea ever?

I took my X7 shifter apart, for a different problem though. Seemed to come apart easily, and as long as you’re careful not to dislodge or lose any of the small parts, then you should be OK – assuming you’re out of warranty and have nothing to lose.

Piss easy to take appart. All these components are designed to be user-serviceable… Go on YouTube…
