    Hi all,

I’ve got some Sram level brakes. Due to me being off the bike for a bit I’m a bit heavier than I normally am.

Can I put some larger calipers on to increase stopping power?

    You could use bigger rotors?

What size are your discs? I would try going larger with them if you could.

To be a bit more constructive, the Guide calipers will work with the level levers.

But as others have said try upping your rotor size. If you’re running 180/160 upgrade to 200 at the front and pop the 180 on the back. You’ll need new post mount adaptors as well.

I wouldn’t mess about changing calipers only – you can often get Guide RE or Code R for £50 an end. In particular the Code R have much bigger master cylinders that manage heat better – but the RE have decent power too – although the levers aren’t as chunky.

    Code R:

Guide RE is just a guide lever with a previous gen code caliper anyway.
