Do the new stule (stealth) Codes come with an olive that just threads onto the barb? So to remobe an internally routed brake, I can unscrew the olive, insteaf if cutting it?

Whenever I’ve had to alter SRAM Code brakes I’ve always had to cut the end and use a new olive and barb because they’re almost impossible to get apart.

The olives are supposedly single use, but I might have reused one or two on my own bikes.

Btw, left hand thread on the olive, RH on the barb.

isn’t the point that the olive gets compressed when you tighten it all up, so not removable?

I bought a bag of 10 on Ali-express for pennies, no faffing around with trying to separate them.

The whole point of the olive is it gets crushed slightly when you tighten up the nut, it might re-seal, but it’s not something I’d try and do unless desperate.

Sram Stealthamajig barbs can be unscrewed with a teeny torq wrench, could be reused if it didn’t get too squished I suppose –

They come with a silver compression olive that you will have to cut off but you get another screw on one.

Im looking to remove and sell a set. It’s one of my biggest gripes with internal routing, I have to cut the hose and go buy new fittings just to remove the brake, and the new owner likely has to do the same to fit it.

You shouldn’t have to cut the hose, the barb is threaded and has a torx socket.

Its usually the olive that has to be cut off to get the hose through internal routing. When I sold a set of sram brakes, I cut it, but supplied a new olive&barb for the buyer. Plugged the end of the hose with a screw to post.
