SHould a SRAM Apex 32t cassette work ok with a 105 rear derailleur? I have a 27t on my Cayo at the minute.

EDIT – Just realised the shifter is 105 too – is there a disparity with how much cable the SRAM and Shimano pull, on the road groupsets?

It works fine. You’ll have to wind the b-tension screw in all the way and be careful with the chain length but I’ve been running one on the cx bike for ages.

Sounds good, thanks Rorschach. I am planning my Alps trip for the Summer and including some pretty big cols. I didn’t have many problems last year but Joux Plan after a long day gave me a very hard time. I’d like to have an extra gear or two up my sleeve in case it all goes wrong. 😆

if your mech wont take the cassette, just fit an mtb rear mech (doesnt need to be 10 speed, as the indexing is all done in the shifters)
