Formula R1 front brake squealing like a skinned piggy! Only when applying brake and not releasing properly all the time.

Now the front rotor squeal I could live with but I would rather not.

The release may be crash associated as there feels a little more play in the front lever than the rear and it doesn’t feel that the lever is returning to it fully out position?

Thanks mantastic, unfortunately I am not but although I woul normally sort a squeal out with oil I see that as not my best idea on brake rotors.

Everything tightened correctly? No contaminants in the pads/rotor?

Some brakes do this more in wet conditions too. Sometimes it can help to give the pads a quick go with a little wet n dry sand paper to remove glazing/ripples that may have occured. Don’t clean them up with alcohol though, it can affect the resin (if they have resin based pads).

    Somethings vibrating….but what ❓

I wouldn’t, just abrade it flat (paper on table/bench/block, move pad in a circular motion so it doesn’t wear with bias. Maybe if see burrs on it, but I don’t think it needs le chamfer.
