- Spoken word podcasts
Its another r4 but ‘in our time’ with Melvyn Bragg. A really eclectic mix of topics, some of which have no interest to me, some which are very interesting, and some which I’ve given a go to and found really fascinating. Broaden your mind and appear dead smart to all your friends.Posted 4 years ago
Could you kindly recommend me some to make my work days pass quickly…not radio 4 ones as I already download most of them…my current favs are kitchen cabinet, food programme, desert island discs, drama of the week, digital human and…..the archers omnibus (waits for ribbing)Posted 4 years agotomfunSubscriber
Bit of a guilty pleasure which brings back childhood memories but the Stone Cold Steve Austin podcast can be interesting depending on the guest. It’s odd listening to old WWF wrestlers talk about their former careers and how they were all alcoholics or stoners and what went on.Posted 4 years agospawnofyorkshireSubscriber
nowt wrong with the Archers
Velo Club Don Logan is pretty good, like the Velocast but every three weeks and with less miserable rants*
As It Occurs To Me – Another Richard herring podcast but really funny
*NB i like the velocast a lot but sometimes they’re a bit heavy on the dourPosted 4 years agotomlevellMember
Velocast mostly behind a paywall now.
Can’t decide if it’s a good thing or not as the info duplicating most of the Humans Invent one which I prefer so now I don’t listen.

Thanks! I do like Garisson Keillor’s voice…had an audio book by him on tape called Radio Romance.
Ps sorry just realised wrong forum..damn phone.
Radio Romance is fantastic. Was a permanent fixture in the car for many years, back in the days when we had a cassette player.Posted 4 years ago
