My middle toe had been niggling me for the past few days – had a good luck at it today and a spot on the end of the toe has a slight greenness and is tender to touch I think I have a deep wood splinter in there. I used a sterilized needle on it and a bit of puss came out and nothing else. Trip to the docs needed or will it work itself out?

I’ve seen someone end up in Intensive Care thanks to a tile splinter.

That’s very much a worst case scenario, but I’d be tempted to get it looked at.

When King Harold got something in his eye at the battle of Hastings in 1066, someone suggested blink loads and it will work it’s way out. Crap suggestion – it never worked.

Though to be fair, it was a fair size splinter ……

Just had a hot bath – gave my toe a squeeze and bit by bit a 5mm splinter emerged! It was very satisfying, ahhhhhhh thats better.

Ok that was what I was going to suggest but you need to keep an eye on it, any slightest sign of infection visit your Dr, when was your last Tetanus shot?
