    any one else watching?
Wonderful images and tales of some truly great escapades by some heroic men and women
I never tire of listening to them and about them

it’s a shame that the heroics of bomber command don’t get the same coverage – not as PC I guess?

My dad was a radio operator in a welly bomber out of Binbrook during the war

he reckoned the Spitfire boys were a bunch of prima donnas that sat around all day while everyone else was busy working 🙂

Many many moons ago, like in 1981, The Strathallan Collection of historic aircraft was sold off by Coys.

    The auctioneer flew himself in.

    In his own Spitfire !

    Pure class !

    Still have my sale catalogue.

I worry about some of these programs and the true validity of this legend of the Spitfire – but then I see one and more importantly here one and I can feel the pride rising and the sound sets my whole body alight with excitement.

Adrenaline and pride is a dangerous, but heady and powerful, concoction 8)
