    I went into my local dealer, had a quick look around the bikes, I am thinking of trying a test bike 29er, looked around a few other things, . . . this was saturday at 12.00 am there wasn’t another potential customer in the shop at all.

    . . there were 3 guys at the desk all huddled around watching something on a small TV, . . i made my way into the vicinity, . . . looked up and just said hello, to the only one who actually bothered to look up, he kind of begrudgingly said hello, then continued to watch tv . . .

    No hello mate, can i help, nothing . . . . i felt like i shouldn’t be there, . . . so i left.

    I’ve been onto Spesh’s website to try in vain to find an email address i can write to regarding this, . . . though I think I’ll email the shop directly too . . .

    bloody useless . . . a potential bike sale just ignored completely . . . 😡

    Happens all the time, quite a few shops I’ve been in have been like that. Still, it only makes the good shops stand out even more.

    maybe, ‘hello, i’d like to test a bike’

    would have been more successful.

    cant get rid of the sales assistants in my local spesh store…

    They were watching a video from Specialised on sales technique…

    …the lesson they were learning was if the customer actually wants to buy something and has the money he will clearly make himself known. If the customer just wants to try something, look at it and talk about it then he’ll not disturb your viewing…
