You could try the Crowne Plaza if you’re driving up. It’s good (ish) value, pretty nice inside for the informal polo shirt wearer, it’s got parking and it’s located next door to the Liver Building.

Relatives stayed there a while back and said good things.

If a week night you should be able to get a deal on Hope street hotel & malmaison, two of the better hotels
