He may not have been revered in the same way as Cliff Burton but Jason Newsted delivered some great playing imo.

Not an intro but you can’t have a thread about bass without Primus. Love them or loathe them nobody has skills like Mr Claypool!

Bit of a cheat, the video shows a Steinberger style headless bass, but it was actually recorded with a Prophet analogue synth. Still a great line no matter what you play it on.
