    The Missus and I are coming over to the UK for a week in Sept/Oct and wanna base ourselves in the Dales or Peak District.

    The missus has seen some nice lodges in Richmond.
    Any other suggestions ?

    I recently had a week in Settle, lovely village with some nice places to eat/ stay. Plenty of good riding and pretty central for short day trips.

    Try the Talbot Arms for food too.

    I noticed today it’s possible to rent North Lees Hall, just below Stanage… Depends how much you want to spend,though.
    If you want unusual places to stay and aren’t too bothered about it being cheap, try Landmark Trust or Vivat Trust; Landmark tend to be pretty comfortable and well equipped, and I’ve heard good things about Vivat, but not tried them.
