So it’ll be another white noise day from the Singletrack Six – with the odd personal attack thrown in (but only on those they perceive to be susceptible – that’s how it work

I’m not seeing the personal attacks coming from that side but keep going with your condescending points.

If it is any help, I like to read the posts of dazh, ernietruss, rone, dissonance (can’t remember the other one right now – that’s how much notice I really take)

Enough notice it seems to remember all the names and keep making low ball points.

So I see that this thread had to be cleaned up a mod. No surprise I guess but would be nice if the centrists could express their “moderate” views without resorting to personal insults and deeply offensive language.

Especially as they undoubtedly believe in the superiority of their arguments.

I’m not seeing the personal attacks

You called me a pick-up driving Red neck for wanting to maintain our nuclear deterrent and agreeing with the fact Corbyn is just as responsible for brexit as the likes of farage, ress-mogg and the daily express!

I’m more aligned with the Liberal democrats than the conservatives or Labour for what it’s worth, lol.

I genuinely don’t think he does.

It is part of the double-think that is required to hold such views.

All lies and jest, still the man hears what he wants to hear and disregards the rest.

And that is, apparently, worse than being a rabid right-winger in the worldview of the Singletrack Six. Just being so damned reasonable.

It does take some mental gymnastics to achieve this level of delusion, though.

    lol at the singletrack 6.

    I like that.

It takes a great Centrists mind to put forward strong contributions like that.

The constant insults and circle jerk comments pretty much come from one side.

I can honestly I’ve never needed to call someone that.

In fact I’d much rather educate Centrists on their misunderstandings of the economy.

Why are you even thinking about it when the likes of Amazon and Facebook pay no tax at all?

If you (rightly) take a moral stance that FB etc should be paying tax, how can you then argue that morally you don’t have to pay your share? Two wrongs and all that….

I said you sound *like*. That’s not the same as calling you is it?

I think that’s playing the game to stay just the right side of the rules, which Mark and the mods have asked we don’t do.

Kind of like telling someone they broke Rule#1 but claiming you haven’t actually called them a dick, so that’s alright then.

    I’m no centrist.
I belive each problem a government and society faces deserves it’s own Taylor made non-partisan solution according to its unique challenge.

Some solutions might require a slightly left solution, some slightly right, some slightly Liberal, some slightly authoritarian.

Taking a statistical average of that and calling it centrist is quite frankly a very simple minded partisan view.

    Yellow tories?

Ahh that old chestnut peddled by the partisan corbynites, haha.

You convinienty forget they had a minority coalition and had to pick thier battles and simply had to make concessions.
Let’s not worry about the fact that that they curbed the worst of what the tories were doing with the limited sway they had.

But that will never fit into the narrative of the anti EU Labour Party, who claim to want more socialism but only for the UK, not those nasty Europeans…

The irony is off the scale.

Yep, and their support for Brexit is about to land us with Liz Truss as Prime Minister.

I’m sure the Singletrack Six will be along in a bit to assure us all it was part of the plan to turn the UK into a socialist utopia – but here’s the thing – I seem to remember Wile E Coyote having lots of plans too (he even wrote some of them down).

    LMAO.

Let’s not worry about the fact that that they curbed the worst of what the tories were doing with the limited sway they had.

The Tories seemed very pleased with what they managed to achieve during the time of the coalition government, especially austerity.

But what you are probably also forgetting is that the LibDems could have gone into coalition with Labour and other minority parties – the arithmetic was there to make that feasible.

But Nick Clegg refused to accept that Gordon Brown would remain Prime Minister, so instead he jumped into bed with the Tories and enthusiastically supported austerity.

The LibDems have never recovered from that disastrous decision. Coalition with Labour, SNP, etc would have massively increased the LibDems credibility. But as a centrist Clegg felt more comfortable with Tories than with lefties

To be fair, the initial thrust of this thread is now moot.

Liz Truss is going to be our next Prime Minister. Let’s just think on that for a while, shall we?

Yeah I wonder who wrote this in the first place, not at all personal is it?

Diddums! Did the nasty man say something rude? You were comparing a builder doing a cash in hand job to a billionaire tax evader. I’d say that qualifies as having your head in the sand/backside/whatever.

    Liz Truss is a remainer…

Oh ha ha ha ha ha ha ha!

Lovely attempt to be disingenuous – but really rather desperate.

She is a born again Leaver – now more Brexity than some of the consistent Leavers.

She is the darling of the Brexity right and a total convert (as much as someone as fundamentally shallow as her could be).

And she is only going to be PM (or anywhere near it) because of her apparent conversion and because of the inverted talent show that Brexit caused within the Tories. No Brexit = no Truss as PM, or Johnson for that matter.

Nice try, but that really is laughable.
