I recently spent the weekend staying with a very attractive 22 year old single female friend. My wife was cool with it – I think mainly cos she knows I’m so far out of her league that nothing untoward would ever happen.

Well done for convincing her of that 😉

The use of acronyms on Mumsnet really throws me, I presume DP is not what I think it is, is there some sort of guide?

It’s the hipocracy on Mumsnet that amuses me.

If the roles were reversed they’d all be supporting the woman’s right to have a male friend with whom to share a hobby.

All men are bastards on mumsnet. They’re just seen as a cash cow half the time.

No wonder most of their husbands are viewing porn or shagging around.

Oooft! I’m as much of a fan of cervical mucus as the next guy, but any internet forum where there’s a universally accepted and commonly used acronym for it is probably not for me. I’m out.

There’s some reasonable discussion and intelligent people on mumsnet but there is a fairly strong undercurrent of hypocrisy and misandry on there. Some posters seem to genuinely not like men very much and are quick to find fault with anything they do, while excusing anything women might do wrong as being a man’s fault for making her want to do it.

Well done for convincing her of that

You’ve never seen me IRL have you? 🙂

I don’t hang out there much – if I want that kind of attitude I put the tablet down and talk to my wife……..

If anyone wants to take me up the Chase, i’m free most days

Is chase a euphonism or are you referring to Cannock Chase, not sure which is better considering the amount of dogging on Cannock!

Any single female riders want to join 5 or so DH’s for the annual Good FRiday ride in the NWAlps this week my email is in my profile. There’ll be cake

    There’ll be cake

    …..made with egg white? 😕

I’ve heard my wife refer to me as DH before.

Until today, I assumed it was Dick Head

Flippin’ ‘eck, that is some bizarre protective and paranoid stuff right there.

Are people really so jealous about people having friends who just so happen to be the opposite sex?

To be precise, one MNer suggested that the DW gets the OW’s bike checked out at Halfords.
Presumably to prove that the STBXH was lying.

Is someone going to tell them that HF are NTBT and they should take the bike to an LBS if they want to be sure about DH’s story.

Heh good point DanW and most people were on the OP’s side so we’re (collectively) pretty much as hypocritical and biased. 🙂

To be precise, one MentalNutter suggested that the DogWalker gets the OcelotWorrier’s bike checked out at Halfords.
Presumably to prove that the Stupid, Tool Buying, Xhibitionist Hamster was lying.

    Makes perfect sense 😉 LTB

The recent rash of Mumsnet-lurking threads on STW reminds me of that stage in school where the boys (STW – sorry ladies of STW, just bear with me here) have just stopped playing football, taking the piss out of each other, and beating each other up for just long enough to notice that there’s a group of girls (mumsnet) on the other side of the playground (the internet), who have previously only been interested in gossiping amongst themselves and doing things with their mum’s make-up. It’s only a matter of time until one of “them” comes over here and asks if one of “us” want to go to the cinema after school.
