…from around the cassette joint. Caan this be fixed, if so, does anyone know how or where?

It’s over a year old (just) and has been serviced at the correct intervals, not exactly reliable…

I don’t have the receipt, and besides it’s over a year old….how would i send it back?

Mine went back to Madison via the LBS after it started doing that.
Sorted under warranty as it was only six months old.

Katie’s has been back repeatedly and they’ve never managed to stop it. We just let all the oil leak out, cleaned it up and kept riding. Seems to run fine with just the remaining coating (Rohloff’s are meant to be fine like that long term).

Rohloffs are indeed ok even if all the oil does leak out as enough adheres to the moving parts. I can’t see that the Alfine would be much different. Maybe just top it up every so often.

Okay…I suppose I’ve got nothing to lose really, not what you expect from a £300 hub.

Replacing the drive side seal is easy enough if your LBS has the seal tool (which they probably don’t….). Whether that solves the problem is a completely different kettle of fish….
