- So I don't understand why so many thread titles begin with 'so'
So. As an off-shoot of the ‘content’ thread on irritating thread title tics, I’d like to discuss the beginning of thread titles with the word ‘so’.
Again – why do people feel the need to incorporate verbal tics into written form?
Again – some thread titles that could occur:
Mediocre garden implement – So, so-so hoe.
Mediocre needlework – So, so-so sewing.
Hippy day out on a ferry – So, bo-ho ro-ro beano.Posted 4 years agonicko74Member
Because when posting a thread, it’s usually as a result of a thought process that began sometime before. So the thread is a natural follow on from that train of thought, or corollary of it, and so starts with a ‘so’.
Just because we can’t see the thought process that led to it, doesn’t been it’s wrong. Grammatically sub-optimal, perhaps.Posted 4 years ago
