If a smart turbo only has bluetooth does that mean swift/sufferfest etc will not talk back to the trainer and therefore will not change the resistance?

Looking at a Kinetic RnR smart (t6200) that only has Bluetooth …. Does this matter too much ?

Back story …. Setup my old, dumb turbo the other week and have been really enjoying it!! Using it with sufferfest, just using perceived effort.

So naturally I’m tempted by smart trainer/zwift. But I’m not really into cycling THAT much anymore but I am into “training” in general and like the idea of interactivity and been able to see if I’m hitting the power levels sufferfest is asking for.

So anyway, only bluetooth does that matter too much ??

Bluetooth is fine, it’ll work as a smart turbo via BT.

i have a ‘dumb’ smart trainer. ie it broadcasts power data but doesnt alter resistance. (kurt kinetic)

its fine, its harder to do some of the workouts/intervals etc but for racing etc power is power and its almost an advantage on the downhill sections as you can keep the power on easier.
