Sleeping bag liner to help combat…

Last year I bought a down sleeping bag

It was too warm to wear a t-shirt but without a top on the inside of the bag was clammy and sticking to my skin

Would a liner help?

Silk is light but I wondered if that would be sticky like the polyester of the sleeping bag

How about cotton?

I noticed Scottish silkworm do a 100% silk version and a light weight synthetic

If it’s too warm in the bag, a liner will make it even warmer.  I have a silk liner for a Rab bag, it’s not sticky and adds some useful warmth if needed.  Sleeping bag liners are OK but if you move around a lot like I do they end up bunched up or sliding to the bottom of the bag.

i like silk but there is thai silk and chinese silk, and different weights
I prefer chinese silk for sleep
id suggest a thinner cotton tshirt, or maybe synthetic top that your comfortable with

2nd this. Much more comfortable unless it’s really cold.

I sleep in merino baselayers, partly for this reason. I find it’s less sweaty, less smelly & dirty on my bag, and in use is easier to unzip and be half out the bag if needed. I keep a fleece to hand to put on or throw over my torso if needed.

I tend to buy bags that are only just warm enough…

The biggest breakthrough for me was buying a bag that was wider, had an odd arrangement of big front zip and a foot ‘hole’ in the bottom. It’s luxuriously spacious and easy to cool off in, or button up for warmth.
