Thinking of buying my old fella a skills day after he’s lost confidence in MTB due to a big off in the alps. Was thinking ed oxley but, does anyone have any other recommendations?

    TIA

Pro Ride at Hamsterley were good for me. I stayed rubbish though 😆

I was going to say Ed Oxley, but obviously you know that already.
Cyclewise at Whinlatter? I did my SMBLA there and it was good fun

Always fancied a lesson with Pro-ride. They seem pretty decent lads when we saw em at Ard Rock

Ed on the other hand, has a really different manner. I could see him inspiring confidence in someone who’s lost it a bit. Plus he’s handy on a bike

Dan at Rootsmtb in the lakes is excellent.
He is local to Grizedale/Coniston so knows all the natural and trail centre riding available to practice your skills

I didn’t get that impression when I’ve been on one of his courses

If you’re looking for a ready-made course then I have had good courses with Cyclewise and Great Rock.

However if your funds stretch to One to One then I unreservedly recommend Trailhum.com based in the Lake district, John Kettle has been excellent in helping me make sense of my own series of off’s this autumn.

Have chat with Stu at the Dales Bike Centre near Reeth. He’s the sort of guy that’ll give your old man some confidence.

IS Craig not teaching too? Sorted me faults out, one to one is the way to go too.

I’ve done a day with Ed and really enjoyed it. I liked the fact that it was really laid back and chilled. I found it useful too.
