I`ve really got into my riding this year both on road and off road.
I`ve got the idea in my head that i need a singlespeed mountain bike for the winter to train on.

Any ideas what frames to buy…?? Carbon or steel… maybe something a bit different… I`ve heard that the Whippet is a great cheap option.

Fully rigid is the Winter way. Preferably with them crazy ass 29″ wagon wheels.

Yeah i`m easy with the fork thing eitherway not fussed,.. tried the 29er thing,.. yuk! 🙂

I’ll vouch for the Sanderson. Mines brilliant. If the 20″ is too big I’ve got an 18″ that I’d would gladly swap for the 20″.

I’m with takisawa2 on this, 29″ wheels, single speed and rigid forks is what a winter mtb looks like for me, it just works on my local trails, which are mostly woodland singletrack and get very gloopy in the winter months.
