My Dad’s 70th birthday on Friday and I’m rapidly running out of time as I live in France and he’s in Lancashire.

Can anyone recommend a really good single malt and speedy online supplier in the region of £100 quids worth.

I’ve a feeling one or two of you may have knowledge of such things.

    Much appreciated

It’s only Monday, you could be there easy by Friday, for his 70th, to help him drink it.

    Couldn’t you?

I’ve just found the whiskey exchange now aswell.

    Where do you start?

Anybody got any favorite all rounders?

Worth having a look at the Scottish Field Whisky Challenge HERE– they run this competition every year. All divided up into price categories as well as notes on styles so should provide some good pointers

Duntstick, just to be picky, Scotch is spelt “whisky” whereas all others are “whiskey”

Some of these tasters make things MUCH clearer………..

“A nose of feeble peat and strawberry-jam-and-chocolate, quite pleasant in a strawberry jam sort of way, taste is pleasing and unchallenging (I like that), peat and bran flakes – a breakfast whisky? Water gives a tasting note of soapy lizards (?). A nice peaty dram but not much Islay.”
