Or 17 month old has been unwell for a week now and I’m struggling to find anything he’ll eat. He had a fever (39-40.2C temperature) last week but thankfully that ended on Friday morning.

He’s hungry and points at things he wants to eat, but then once sampled he spits them out, including all his usual favourites.
So, other than breastfeeding, what do you feed your kids when they’re ill or recovering from illness?

I completely misunderstood what you were asking there.

Yeah, was going to advise cooking hot and fast or low and slow. I guess it will be quite delicate, so avoid anything that will over flavour it.

With ours when she’s not feeling well we tend to stick to ‘mash’ I make a sort of mashed potato which is thirds poatato, sweet potato and carrot. She also likes cornbeef hash again with mash as above but with broccoli and peas mixed in. She can just eat it without chewing too much either warm or cold.

Jelly and good quality ice cream.
Carbs and fruit in the jelly. Protein and fat in the ice cream.
    What’s not to like?
