That was the end of my race. He hit my back wheel.

I was already in deep doggydoo with the missus because I had been carted off to emergency a few weeks earlier with a DVT and had a couple of days in whatever they call Intensive Care these days followed by a week in the Cardiac ward.

When I got back my wife was hitting high doh because apparently someone had been taken off the course with a fatal heart attack and she thought it may have been me (it was an unfortunate spectator).

Then she heard I’d had a big crash and seeing as I was pumped full of blood thinners she put on a quiet tantrum and I had to go home. I thought it wise to comply.

But I still managed to do my usual one more lap than Dougie Vipond 🙂
