Yes that would have been us

We ride it that way round so we can get a pub stop. Must be one of the best down hills with a pub at the end

yes, I'm embarrassed now as thinking back I've done it once, but I can only recall downhilling towards Cutthroat Bridge 🙂 I think the combination of narrow gate with a step up is difficult…

we always used to ride it that way round as the descent down to cut throat bridge is very good in the dry

interestingly enough cut throat bridge is somewhat aptly named (i'm sure it has a previous reason for being called this) as a sheffield chipshop owner was beheaded by the triads in the layby over the road about 15 years ago. we saw the fire brigade washing the blood of the road 8)

Tracey – that climb is just plain nasty….starts of easy & ends up really leg-burny……

Ooooooh, extra points for chip butty pic.

EDIT – oh and no riding this weekend so no pics, although went into shed last night & Reba's (recently swapped onto new Inbred frame) have decided to lose all their oil past the u-turn adjuster (left upside down in shed)…… 🙁

those chips will have been cooked by my brother Tracey, best washed down with a pint of Farmers Blonde, the girls are a little young for that, i'm sure Kev could manage though

    Deepest Worcestershire.

This county needs more bridleways though.

Great photos Chakaping, which path did you take up / down? Planing a trip next month! 😀

blue-mountain-goat – We followed this route.

The bridleway goes all the way up and it's the same route back. We followed it precisely, but some other bikers we met had skipped an early bit of bridleway in favour of staying on the access road for the ascent – which may have been a smart move.

The BW makes a better descent though.

Are you riding it on your unicycle?

That's the plan. Hope to ride up late afternoon, Bivvy near the top and ride down early the next morning.
    Thanks for the info.

BMG – All the best with that.

The car park mentioned in that link would be a good spot to leave a car overnight, if you need to.

Its a pretty good piece of singletrack on the Quiraing. Did you do the descent on the otherside? If so, its quiet a nice way to drop back down onto the road outside of Staffin.
