I’m looking after a friends 8yo girl Black Lab. Ive never had a dog, but we had a blast today battling the wind and rain on Hadrian’s Wall. She’s now chilling out listening to Kathryn Tickell.
Top dogs 😀 but you could stuff a life sized toy elephant with the hair they lose in a year..
This is Lucy, she’s nineteen years old and still going out every day..
This is Ben, 8 years old and still waiting for him to come out of his puppy phase. Poor thing had to have his tail docked recently because he wagged so hard it kept splitting on the end.
Drac – I’m loving life up here thanks. Moved out of Rothbury due to idiotic landlady but found a good place much nearer work (Wallington) which is ace! Its not so convenient for bike blasts compared to Rothbury though!
Yorkshire89 , sorry to hear that . He was a cracking looking dog. My mates 4 year old black lab severed his spine with a disc and had to be put down. 🙁
My 2 favourite pics of our lab/collie x. Rescued from the local pound 8 years ago. Only went for a look round and didn’t want a puppy or a collie or a lab, but then saw a lab collie x pup. Then had the story of how she ended up there. Her mum had been tied to the gates one night, had a litter of pups the next day and died while having them. The other brothers and sisters were snapped up but one was left as she had a bad leg and nobody wanted a limping puppy. She couldn’t get to the front of the cage to see would-be families so just curled up at the back. As the wife wiped away a tear, I went to get the car (had a bit of dust or something in my eye) and she came home with us there and then.
Since then we’ve had 2 kids and she’s great with them – not jealous, loves playing with them – top dog!
