C class estate. Had a 10 plate 250 from about 20k ago, new water pump and nothing else… oh, 1 tyre. Flew through 3 MOTs so far. 40 to 50 MPG on city and motorway over the past month

61 plate vrs diesel estate 44 mpg around town,51mpg on 150 mile a road round trip to Chester yesterday.
Works for me and my family.

I am a lesser mortal though. Should I go for the 1.4tsi or the 1.6tdi for my average mix of town trundling and motorway?

I already have a woodburner and posh coffee maker, BTW.
