Can I use my current XT triple chainrings and bottom bracket (Shimano M770) with a pair of XTR M970 Cranks?

I’m aware that a special tool is needed to fit the non-driveside crank on the M970 XTR.

    Thanks in advance,

    BB yes, rings no.
All Shimano HT11 BBs are interchangable but XTR had some funny bolt patterns on the chainrings.

BB yes, ring – I believe so, they are standard 104, 66 BCD I believe.

Yes for the rings but you’ll need 2mm spacers for the 22t.

As above – BB yes, 42/32 will fit but the XTR granny was specific – any other ring needs spacers.

I have a part worn M970 set in the garage I think? If you want them drop me an email on georgebudd1 AT gmail.com

You can user the inner ring, just needs 2mm spacers as Gee says – I ran TA rings on my M970s.

Are the 2mm spacers easy to get hold of?
