    Hi guys,

I am helping a friend strip down and service his quite well used second hand (purchase in May) lapierre e-bike.

Its been sat for a few weeks now due to him being away but he is having a problem with the Shimano steps set display powering up.

The battery is fully charged with 4 green bars but the display wont turn on, we took the battery out and realised one of the three cables which ‘click in’ to the motor was out so we pushed that back in but its not a great fit to be honest, it doesn’t have that clicking feeling/noise like others and the cable is relatively new however it is in place and the cover back on.

Is there anything else we should be trying?
The 3 cables are securely in the rear of the display (is there a correct formation for them) but nothing.

    Thanks in advance.

Get it booked in at a shop and plugged into a SM-PCE02.

    Best I can do Is

You’re meant to use a special tool to get cables in out

*lots of other companies available https://www.freewheel.co.uk/shimano-non-series-di2-tl-ew02-e-tube-di2-plug-tool-tlew02?gclid=CjwKCAjwwab7BRBAEiwAapqpTH5Au4d3PP7uSkNxWJ0-P7oVNKn-DpF-z7OMkme3OMPyq5EJps49UhoClqwQAvD_BwE

It may be worth trying a different cable (via the tool)

    See comment in above post

Could well be a broken / pinched cable. They are really fragile so a lot of care needs taken when working with them.

I’d try a different cable to see what happens.
