  • Shimano centre lock rotors / boost 240 hubs. What tool?

I’ve got a new set of wheels and can’t fit the centre lock rotors As my cassette tool is too thick. It fouls the boost axel and is not long enough.

Plenty of tools out there but can anyone tell me which is the right one!

    Cheers

AFAIK, for through axles you need the different lockring that is tightened using a BB tool. There isn’t enough room to get a cassette tool between the lockring and axle.

My Shimano wheels which were QR rear and 15mm front came with a cassette style lockring on the rear and a external BB style lockring on the front, I assume you would need the latter for a thru axle

Some cassette tools are thinner/deeper than others, however some hubs require different lockring that uses a BB tool on the outside

Cheers all. Looks like I’ve got the old style lock rings then.

Swap them out and it’ll be reet’
