My XT 785 calipers have failed again. Replacements no longer seem to be available so my question is whether I can use the newer XT 8000 ones or even the road r785/685. Or should I just bin them and get some up to date ones?

M8000 or M7000 would be least faff as the road ones have straight connections rather than banjos.

M7000 is the same calliper forging and pistons as M8000.

Do these things leak from the piston seals, or from the joint where the two halves of the caliper are bolted together?

Has anyone successfully cured this issue with the calipers?

Try a different make that doesn’t fail as often?
