Shimano won’t stop usin Cup and cone, they’re an engineering first company. Cup and cone is better from an engineering and performance point of view. It might be less convenient, but from an engineering perspective it’s better enough that they will carry on using it regardless of what everyone else does

Despite the fact that they’ve ditched cup and cone for the latest XTR MS Boost hubs…

XTR are still cup and cone.
