Front mech stopped working last night whilst out riding..turns out the small bolt that clamps the cable to the mech, has sheared off. Any ideas on how to get it out? The bolt has sheared a couple of mm below the top of the hole….

You could try using an easy out or something like that.
There shouldn’t be any tension in the remaining bit of the bolt so it should come fairly easily.

On mine it sticks out at the back so you may be able to get a grip with pliers and turn it that way failling that use an easy out.

Take A small hacksaw, remove the mech from the bike, clamp in vice and cut a groove across the top of the bolt (you will prob have to cut into the mech a bit as well) keep carefully cutting until you have a deep enough groove to get a small flat bladed screwdriver in there and then you can unscrew! Good luck

The “right” way to do it is with something like this:

Dremmel a slot & tap with punch.
I bet its too small for a stud extractor (basically left hand threaded tap)
