So encouraged by successful service of my fox forks I thought I’d have a shot at the rear shock.

Took it off the bike but what do I then do to get the thing apart. Have tried unscrewing the top section but after exposing 5/6 threads it goes not further.

Can’t find an online guide anywhere on how to do this. Anyone got an ideas/experience?

(I’ve got the service kit of plastic spacers and seals etc).

Theres some service info from MBR Here.

I did check the Fox site and they have removed the Air sleeve maintenance PDF for the shocks. Its a good thing I downloaded it then.

If you want the PDF, end me an email which is in my profile.

Also, the seal at the bottom of the can maybe holding the can on, so you may need to be a little more forceful, I will at this point state the obvious and say that the air has to be removed from the shock completely.
