Just wondering if anyone has any experience of this and some words of wisdom?

Turning out to be somewhat more painful than the newer Fox forks I’m used to – plastic bolt heads done up bloody tight into the bottom of the stantions so I can’t get into the internals from below (awaiting a couple of 6-point sockets in weird sizes to apply a bit more pressure to them), seals that won’t budge, damaged foam rings…

Any tips!? (other than sending them to a pro which I might well do but they aren’t really worth the money).

They seem to be in decent nick except the spring’s way to hard for the light rider, and the compresison damping’s also too much. I understand I can remove a spring to deal with the former and I am assuming I can replace with a lighter weight oil on the damping side but all that assumes I can get into them….

    Manitou provide comprehensive service manuals.

Please pay attention to the LH threads used to hold the dampers to the lowers…
