  • Sending 20kg box to New Zealand…

    Morning all,
My nightmare of a brother has dropped this in my lap, the weekend before he’s due to emigrate, he discovers his missus has ‘too much stuff’, and has asked if I can price a courier for the additional suitcase. Weight approx 20kgs, 70x50x40cm.
Prices of the usual suspects (DHL UPS, FedEx etc) are eye wateringly high, £200+.
Can anyone recommend a courier or share any tips?

    Thanks in advance.

Try parcel2go.com. Just put in your details to New Zealand and a 3 day FedEx service is coming in at £141.

There are a few more companies out there like this offering good discounts whilst using reliable couriers.

It also sometimes cheaper to split it into smaller parcels, bizarre as it sounds!

Might be worth seeing what the excess baggage charge is on the airline they’re flying with?

http://www.excess-baggage.com/ ? Although I heard that they’re really crap on price, despite the name and “specialisation”.

I also heard (second hand, so…) that the airlines (maybe even the airline they’re already flying with) will take items as cargo cheap.

smaller parcels (>2kg each) surface post will be the cheapest way to do it.
