Any recommendations? Would be nice to have something that can hold my Galaxy S9 down rumbly dropoffs without risking the thing flying down a trail or spinning round the bars.

If I fall off, all bets are off, of course 🙂

Please be recommending what you use and are happy with below 🙂

When I need to use a phone for navigation I use one of these

With one of these to attach it to the bars

I haven’t lost a phone yet and have ridden some pretty steep and/or rough trails with it on.

I just hope it doesn’t break in a crash as the mount is worth 10x the value of the phone 🙂

Look at the SP Connect system or Quadlock. SP Connect utilises gopro compatible mounts, comes with a cover and a rain shield. I have one for my S8. Very good and solid.

Quadlock front mount with the additional go pro attachment (so I can also mount my go pro on it) does it for me brilliantly. I came off the bike the other day and the phone stayed on!

I’ve got a Topeak Ridecase on my road bike. Seems pretty secure on there – but never tried it off-road. In the shops they are quite expensive but I shopped round online and got one for under £20.

Second vote for quadlock. iPhone 8 Plus never budged a jot round the Ard Rock.

    Also +1 for Quadlock here.

Have a Quadlock ‘Out Front’ mount with optional GoPro mounting attachment. Phone on top and light unit attached underneath to GoPro mount – an MTB Batteries Lumenator.

Decathlon velcro strap thingy here. Not 100% waterproof, but good enough. Phone is inside, strap round stem so plenty secure.

Quadlock is great, also the tigra ones are as good but the cheaper ones are a bit more agricultural ive used both on commutes for years and they never budge, even after a few crashes.
