Some show tunes are belters. Probably cheating slightly given the artist.

Seen them a few years ago in an open air concert. They were fantastic but they only played the one tune all night.

Best gig I’ve ever been to, for the sheer amazing spectacle of it all, was Take That on their Circus Tour. Proper jaw-droppingly good entertainment.

    I also like Rudimental

Will occasionaly listen to U2. <Lister will probably mock me for qite some time now.>

I can agree. And also Phil Collins.

My daughter loves modern musicals. My Apple playlist includes songs from Kinky Boots, Wicked, Mean Girls…..

Mainly this but I do choose my moments very carefully when I chose to listen to any Nickelback. If you go past their commercial hits there’s some good stuff there, it’s mainly throwaway tunes but after seeing them live at a festival I rather enjoy some of it.

Taylor Swift, N-Dubz- both are guilty pleasures
Lana Del Ray is decent- no shame there!

Earth wind and fire always raise the mood for me.

Most who know me are quite surprised that I’m a big Tori Amos fan. Seen her live loads of times too.

Lana is great too, but she’s also got enough melancholy to fit in with the rest of my music mix.

Slyvias Mother, when you’re in love with a beautiful woman, sexy eyes, the cover of Rolling Stone…. pure fantastic cheese

I don’t understand why liking Tori would be considered in any way a secret shame. She’s an extraordinary songwriter, and any woman who writes and records a song about being raped at gunpoint should be praised by everyone.

I can associate with this too – Never Again is a brilliant track, a colleague was in a band who opened their set with this.

The opposite of a guilty pleasure, surely?

Nothing says good taste and sophistication like a bit of Gilberto, Getz or Jobim.

A girl I was seeing at the time persuaded me to go and see Chris de Burgh live (this was the eighties). Lady in Red was as cringingly awful as I’d expected but the rest was surprisingly good fun.

His performance of Patricia the Stripper is still one of the best live things I’ve seen.

But probably not Only sixteen these days! 😀

My parents liked them, so I grew up with them in the background, and I caught them on a Whistle Test repeat a few months ago – they were very entertaining.

Another vote for Taylor Swift here – saw her live in 2018 – one of the best gigs i’ve even been to, and i’m no stranger to live music.
