    Hi
Rcently at home we have been able to charge a 1st gen Nano and 1st gen Ipod Touch using the same mains charger bought a couple of years ago.
My stepson got a 2nd gen Ipod Touch for xmas and this wont charge with the charger.
Does anyone know if there is a specific reason for this?
I know we can use the PC but that doesn’t help when we are not at home.
    Cheers

Ive noticed that since getting my ipod touch the stuff that used to charge my nano dosnt charge the new ipod, i ended up buying a new mains adapter but checking with the apple store first

For some reason, Apple have changed the way ipods charge – they used to be able to charge via a Firewire link and usb; now they can only charge via the latter. Unfortunately most older plug in/in car chargers use the Firewire connection so won’t charge the latest models.

yep, as above. It’s a pain. I have a Klipsch speaker system and an in car ICE system, neither charges my itouch and since the battery life on these things is nowhere near as good as the old classic ipods, that’s a bit annoying.
