So I have a car (old V reg 206) which runs and is MOT’d but it has the following problems:

    Starter Motor knackered
    Head gasket shot
Cat is paper thin and about to go
Bodywork not great a few dinks scrapes and scratches
    Apholstery not in great nick

So what would most people do with it, take it to a weighbridge, stick it on ebay with an honest description and sell it for scrap/parts, contact a lousy website who suggest they buy any car (Gggrrrr even saying that makes my blood boil – flippin adverts)?

    cheers

A search of completed items suggests that cars that are driveable under their own power, will sell for reasonable amounts of money, even if they need a shedload of work doing. Anything thats not driveable seems to struggle as it requires someone to recover it.

    ebay listing is cheap though…

Nah, insure it, report it stolen, drive to a dodgy part of town, and burn it.

my mate sold his N reg corsa which needed various including welding for £400. A guy training to be a mechanic bought it. So probably worth selling IMO
