as cycle lanes on direct A roads dont seem to exist much outside of inverness to get into the satellite major towns.
And then we get back to the argument about what sort of cycle provision we want. At the moment, we have a fantastic network of routes provided for cycling between all the major and satellite towns. They are tarmaced and maintained by the local councils with gritting carried out according to a priority system. They are called “roads”.
These non-trunk roads (and other cycle provisions) are the responsibility of the local council, not the Scottish Government.
