I have a mk2 scandal, which is still all I need but only limited by rear tyre clearance.
Anyone running one 650b rather than 29″ – if so, how big a tyre can you comfortably fit in.
Unless it’s up to plus sizes is it worth doing or do you end up too small at the rear?

I don’t know about the MK2, but it didn’t work with my Mk1

(Scandal – 650B/Hugo 52mm rim/WTB 2.8″ tyre does not fit)

Maybe with a narrower rim, but then you lose the whole point of plus size, i.e. size.

Chainstays are *tight* on the scandal, MK1 and mk2, i don’t think you’d even get a 27.5x 2.6 in.

Thanks both. 2.6″ on 650b was all I had in mind but doesn’t sound like it’ll work. I’ll just avoid the rock gardens!
