Standing on the bus not far behind the driver, pulling away from the lights, guy on a road bike in front of us inexplicably suddenly hits the deck right in front of us. Driver has much better reflexes than I would and swerves and emergency stops, missing the downed rider who is lying there looked confused.

Proper heart in the mouth moment for everyone, my heart was racing and the driver was pretty stunned. Usually the buses sit right behind cyclists but this driver had left a bigger distance than normal – I think had it been any other bus or driver and he would have been completely run over.

No idea how he suddenly hit the deck, maybe a mechanical, oil on the road, really weird. Take care out there!
