    Anyone seen this:-

The new Santa Cruz Bantam at Eurobike 2013

Where is it aimed in the line-up?

It’s the single pivot Solo, in the same way as the Heckler is the single pivot Bronson.

They’ve just released a new Heckler and it has a lot less travel. Looks more like a more affordable version of the Solo?

Is it just me or has Santa Cruz gone a bit bonkers of late. They’ve got more models than airfix these days and so much overlap. It’s a bit bewildering IMO.

I really don’t understand this one.

They will probably bring the Butcher and Nickel back next week.

Discontinued as they were no cheeper to make or maintain than the VPP bikes.

I like it, but I’m also seriously tempted by the 130mm Meta 29ers half price on CRc at the moment on CRC. Same travel bigger wheels.

Bantam = Lightweight so I reckon it’s like a new superlight although it weighs more than a heckler which is weird.

It seems to fill a nice gap to me. Something fun like a Heckler but shorter travel so also kind of more laid back than a Superlight. Not everyone wants VPP.

It’s the kind of thing I’d look at having owned a couple of Hecklers and currently back on a hardtail.

Looks a good bike to me.
It seems that SC intend to have a “premium” VPP line and a more affordable single pivot line. Nothing wrong with that.

It’s to offer the latest geometry at 3 different price levels, for each of the bikes.

    Bantam-Solo-Solo Carbon

    Heckler-Bronson-Bronson Carbon
