I may be relocating to San Francisco, with a need to get into SF centre and a bit of Silicon Valley. Have a family and a ‘modest’ budget to rent a house. Where should I live? I’m trying to balance a nightmare commute with space, closeness to riding and other outdoorsey stuff. Anyone lived around there? Thanks. Posted 6 years ago v8ninetySubscriber Bloody hell mate, you’ll struggle. Talk about desirable real estate. Gorgeous city though, lucky get! Edit, I always liked the look of Sausalito… Ticks two out of your three boxes. Posted 6 years ago cynic-alMember My brother lived in Moraga with family. I only lived in the City (Noe Vally). Loved it, well jealous. I am told the Bay area has the highes priced Reals Estate in the world. Posted 6 years ago tonydMember Where ever you go (within reason!) you’ll have some good riding pretty close. No idea on rental costs but can’t think of anywhere cheap there within a 2 hour commute! Posted 6 years ago phinbobSubscriber Hmm the rentals are quite *exciting*. Will need to factor that into my demands. Posted 6 years ago TaffMember I always liked the look of Sausalito It’s awesome there. If I went to San Fran I would probably like to find a place there… budget.. pah don’t need one of those! Posted 6 years ago beagleMember Tenderloin? Posted 6 years ago RaindogMember Tenderloin? ..the only time in SF when I was actually scared was in Tenderloin. Posted 6 years ago phinbobSubscriber Hmm I’ve been to Sausalito, really nice but quite expensive (the property taxes seem really high too) and also the bridge looks like something of a bottleneck. I’m not sure the yanks are ready for be bringing my Brompton to meetings…. Posted 6 years ago mcmoonterMember Have a look at Fairfax and San Anselmo. The ferry from Larkspur can get you over to the city easily. Quite expensive? Try megabucks. And as for the bridge bottleneck, the fast ferry is where it’s at… Posted 6 years ago Viewing 15 posts - 1 through 15 (of 15 total) The topic ‘San Francisco’ is closed to new replies.
