    Just a quickie….

On all the Rockshox forks I’ve ever had, which have all been 2010 vintage, the markings have been under the lacquer.

I’ve spotted some 2nd hand forks, where the sag markers are rubbing off, so have Rockshox changed things, or is this a sign of stanchion wear?

Lacquered? I wouldn’t have thought so; the tubes are aluminium so I’m pretty sure they’ll be anodised – the markings themselves etched. I’d suggest that worn markings are just an indication of usage and wear.

They’ve always looked like they’re under some kind of transparent coating, rather than being etched/painted on?

I could well be wrong! I just would not have thought that lacquer would be ideal coating.
