I am lost for words right now, but I thought it appropriate I post something on here as Brian ‘messiah’ Goldsworthy was a regular poster, and I know quite a few of you met him over the years.
Brian passed away yesterday while on a solo ride around his local trails on the outskirts of Stonehaven. He was only 43.
I can’t think of anything else to say at the moment, my head is a complete mess, so I’ll just post a photo of Brian larking about on top of a hill. I’ve been looking back through my photo collections and I don’t think I’ve got any sensible photos of him. RIP Mr G.
Rob – no he wasn’t ill as such but he’d been off the bike since January due to a problem he described as ‘muscular’. It appears it was more serious than that.
Lost for words realy. I only knew him from buying his old Nicolai frame recently. Realy nice helpful and friendly guy. As above, thoughts are with his family and friends 😥

Very sad news, being 44 myself and riding with others a year or 2 around my age, we always moan about aches and pains especially after a few hours on the trails but just put it down to being “not as young as we used to be”. Makes you think doesn’t it.
Thoughts to his family.
I’m another who’s 43 in a couple of years. Always ride alone too. Sad day. I guess it does count for something that he was doing what he loved at the end. 43 is just way way too young!! 😥
Shocking news. Never knowingly met the bloke, although he’s close enough that we may have passed on the trails and I always enjoyed his posts. R.I.P. and condolences to those who loved him.
Thanks for all the kind words. He was definitely one of life’s nice guys, a devoted husband and father, and a serious mountain bike addict. I think yesterday was his first ride on a Ragley Big Wig he recently built while waiting on his new Nicolai ION frame to arrive in April.
🙁 Terrible news, didn’t know the guy but it still takes the wind out of your sails when you hear about someone of a similar age to you with similar interests dying far to young. Thoughts with his family.
It’s pretty awful looking at his posting history and seeing just how out of the blue this sort of thing can be – he was talking about his new carbon rims being on the way about three days ago 🙁

What a way to go 😐
Didn’t know him in real life but felt like I sort of did on here a bit, a fellow mmmBop rider and we seemed to post on similar threads. One of the good guys 🙁
