    there’s no excuse for drivers speeding around blind bends unable to stop in the distance they can see to be clear. It could just as easily be a tractor, a wild animal or a tree.

    Absolutely agree and its exactly the same argument I use regarding “dangerous” cyclists however trees and tractors rarely lurk in the gutters covered head to toe in black nylon. Thats my point, if I braked for every shadow I’d get nowhere. And this is the A78 I’m talking about, not some random country lane.

    god, is this still going? I’m off out – for a run in the road, in the dark, with the local club. Don’t worry, someone will probably have a headtorch of some sort.
