Nothing I like to hear nature, or if I’m near roads, I like to hear the cars

I wondered when someone would mention wax 😆

Nice one Vern0n – I’ll try that in the morning. Though I have to say, I’ve heard of none of that.

A bit of Treacherous Orchestra today. Nice to keep a fairly steady pace.

Normally nothing at all bar the sound of me breathing out of my backside. For long runs it tends to be old skool hip-hop.

Why do you listen to music? Are you road/path running?

    wallop
    Full Member

I don’t know really. Is it better without? I suppose I like a bit of rhythm. I mainly run away from roads.

Coldplay today 😳 Wasn’t brave enough for Vern0n’s mix 😆

I’ve never listened to music whilst running, I trail run only so most of my time is concentrating on foot placement and pitch of the next landing.

Another thing about music whilst running… doesn’t it all get a bit sweaty in your ears with buds in?

I might have a go, just to see what it’s like.. might…

I don’t use it for shorter runs, but for long runs I find it helps a bit with the monotony.

Coldplay Wallop!!?!? That would have most folk running for a cliff 😆

Definitely varies with my mood – sometimes nice just to have no music, but needing the extra encouragement at the mo!

Will no doubt put a more chilled one up at some point ..,

    And re: earphones (bikebuoy)

Currently got wireless Phillips sport in-ear, pretty reasonable price. I usually use noise cancelling buds but find that a bit too much if running as I do like some natural sound (cars / people / gunshots etc) but very much personal fit / choice so difficult thing to recommend.

    Yeah, I know… 😆

Earbuds – I use some Taotronics bluetooth jobbies. Yes, they do get a bit sweaty but nothing to worry about really.

And remember, in the words of Dorian – “Horses sweat, men perspire and women glow” 😀

I ran sans musique tonight. It was ok apart from the fact that I now know what I sound like when I run. I’m surprised a passer by hasn’t phoned me an ambulance.

Day off today. But listening to Disco/House podcast.. which I might run to tomorrow…

I had a day off too – only ran a mile. I’ve been doing this Ron Hill Run Every Day challenge for October. I’m not even a runner. I’m loving it, but starting to feel like I need a rest, having just run for the last 27 days in a row.

Definitely carrying on with the running after the challenge is done!

    Fancy sharing your disco podcast?

Sure, good effort every day.. that’s quite a challenge. When I started I’d only do 3 days a week, having cycling legs meant quite a transition period (as you probably well know) but I’ve been knocking out 10ks trail running for quite some time now. I like the woods and trails and beaches, hate the road and pathways with a passion!

Poddy.. (do you have soundcloud ?) I use soundcloud helluva lot ..
Just scroll through the first 4mins intro chat (they’re always a bit dull)

Ghah, couldn’t stand listening to music today.. its quite stunning and a blast around Greenwich Park at lunch I thought I’d pop on some tunes.. got to the foot tunnel and almost exploded with deafness..

I’ll give it another try when home but for now all I’ve seemed to have done is carry my darn phone (which rang 4 times!! THATS the reason I don’t take my phone out with me) around ..

    Howdy ho…

I rarely listen to music whislt running as I find it buggers up my cadence, will happily shove on a podcast or two of people talking and switch the brain off

    Yes you will Wallop!

Keep it up, i used to be 20st and unable to run 100m. Now <14st, run properly 3 times a week now and have now done half-marathons and can bosh out a 10k with little effort.
