hi stwers, im looking for a rugged camera that can withstand abuse, ive a nice dslr which obviously i cannot take out on the kayak or on the dusty trails when they arrive, anyone using a nice waterproof dust shock proof one they could recommend around 30o-400 mark ?? 😀

    Olympus TG1

The best of the genre that I’ve tried.

Used for bike, ski, sailing and general travel stuff.

I was very happy with my Olympus mu, now replaced it with a Nikon AW100.

I just bought a Nikon AW100 too. It’s just been replaced so can be had for a decent price. I paid £150 for mine in John Lewis.
It has so far stayed waterproof in the bathroom sink & the fish pond. It has also survived the rugged Vista of Rutland water.

Takes ok pics, but not as good as my Nikon p300. Will be possible trying it at CyB in a couple of weeks if I don’t take my slr.

I like my Panasonic Lumix FT20. Nice and small, so fits in my pocket, and I think it takes decent photos.

There’s also the FT5 which is the more expensive version, with a slightly longer zoom and built in GPS etc.
