Pretty good photo though. Amazing what you can get for £500 these days!

A few years ago i spotted a Rolex watch on eBay very cheap the picture of it was so blurred you could just about tell it was a watch. I took a punt and it turned out to be genuine and i sold it a few years later for a very healthy profit.

I’ve dubbed this house “burglary chic”.

Location, Location, Location! Plus, scope for improvement…

I spent my holidays at my mum’s helping her clear rooms to make it presentable for photos. And then the estate agent has made a video, which shows all the hidden junk, toilet lids up, piles of boxes, random close ups of odd antiques/junk etc. Ah well. We tried.

But as a potential buyer, I much prefer the ‘honesty’ of that video compared to a few carefully chosen and ‘enhanced’ photos, as it gives me a much better sense of what the place is actually like. I can see straight away, that it’s going to need a lot of work to get it anywhere near what I’d consider decent, as it looks like it hasn’t had any maintenance work done for decades (save for the installation of some UPVC windows). Which for a property near the sea, isn’t good. So the estate agent is actually helping potential buyers, who may not be able to travel all the way to a remote location to view just one property, to have a much better informed view of what it’s really like. And it’s not their fault you didn’t actually clear all the crap out! Obviously sellers want to gloss over any negative points, but it’s buyers who’ll be lumbered with a potential money pit. So your estate agent has actually done a good job there, I’d say! Most unlike the majority…

I’m guessing there’s a solid market for cheap “coffee machines”.

No photos sadly, but when I last was house hunting I found a great property where every picture of a bathroom showed a giant pyramid of toilet roll atop the toilet cistern. Something like 14 rolls or so.

I imagine the homeowners had the photographer take the shot of bathroom one, and were then like, “Hold on mate, we just need to move the bog roll to the next bathroom, with you in a moment”.

paton’s photo – ad says at the bottom ” will be updated with more useful photos when I get a chance” – I guess that photo is deliberately bad to make sure nobody thinks it’s real!

btw – the only bit of that link you need is https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/265406813707

Edit: MrP beat me to it

A triangular stack would be 10 or 15 or even 21 rolls if they were really showing off.

Now thats what I call a seriously nice and characterful home. 😀

As I look about my small and cluttered Glasgow tenement flat, I think….

…Maybe its not nearly as cluttered as i thought 😆 😆

That is actually a very nice place. A shame you’re selling up.

Tbh the Zillow house just mesmerised me,every time you look at a picture you get something else.

A family of monkeys tastefully arranged over a bar.

It’s so bad but done with a strange style, I’ve honestly never seen anything like it.

Oddly some locals are being done for selling elephant foot stools and I sorta wondered what type of decor would they fit into as to me it’s a strange thing to want.

Little did I realise that STW would provide the answer.

Is that the house from Ace Ventura?

Ironically the first pic in OP could be a dream for the trained eye looking for a bargain.

Maybe not so obvious to the untrained eye, but the bike looks to have suffered about two zero rides to the shop and then crammed into the back of a dry shed. Stuff dumped in front of bike (and over it) means the bike is not easily-accessible/extricable and so remains unused. Cables and tyres look mint. Crank logo unrubbed. Nearby (also discarded) crutches point to possible immobility/long-term health issues.

Best guess = looking at an ‘as new’ bike that has been impulse-purchased/hoarded by someone who isn’t into bikes/exercise (but momentarily thought that they might be)

    Sincerely,

Describing it FS is generous. Actually, describing it as a bike is generous!

Enjoyed this listing today. Pictures surprised me, when you want to sell something, show all the knackered bits? But then there’s the dwscription 😀
